September! My favorite month. It showers us with bright sunny days that show off the many brilliant colors that autumn paints the trees. All that blaze of color is followed by cool, crisp evenings that are perfect for sleeping. A great summer is behind us with many wonderful memories.
 We had a wedding this summer. It took place on a bright sunny summer day in August. The more than beautiful bride was our granddaughter Jaime. Jaime is our oldest son Rick’s oldest daughter. We are so blessed to have his family of 6 live just across the road from us. It was an at-home wedding. At home is a beautiful spot bordering The Mighty Kennebec River here in Woolwich, Maine. Jaime married Tyler, a somewhat local boy, who has become the athletic director at Hyde School in the town across the river. She is the 5th-6th grade teacher at a Christian school here in Woolwich. She passes our house each day on her way to and from her work. Life is Good!
On June 9, the 2011 santons arrived on our door step to complete their journey from Marseille, France. Unpacking them is as exciting as most kid’s Christmas. It is an awesome site to see 50 little Jesus, packed side by side, looking up at you in anticipation of being placed in stock , ready to be sent off to homes across the USA and Canada.

Our gift box special for 2011 contains the man & woman musicians. It is attractively gift boxed, ready for giving as gifts to others or a feel good gift for you. A card with the following explanation  is included:
Street musicians. One of the oldest crib santons, they first appeared about 1820.
They hold their stringed instruments between their hands getting ready to
play in honor of the birth of the infant Jesus.
The “vielle”, from the old Provençal ‘violo’, is a stringed keyboard instrument
which is found in the folklore of many regions of France.
This couple will also make a nice addition if you have started a collection of musical figures to be displayed as a parade on the fourth of July. Other figures of parade adaptability are; the man and woman drummer, bongo drummer, flag bearer, the policeman, the mayor and the sailor. They can also be used as part of a musical combo to play for the farandole dancers.
